RECENT NEWS:

10/11/09:  Facebook page started - includes photos, videos and events calendar (search for 'Crieff Microbes')

09/11/09:  Player registration form introduced - can be downloaded here

26/09/09:  Microbes Newsletters introduced - Newsletter 1 can be downloaded here

WHO ARE WE? The Microbes are the youngest and noisiest section of the club. Our players are aged from 3-8yrs (pre-school to P3). Our aim is to help the kids have fun whilst developing some basic skills in handling the ball and working as a team. There is very limited planned contact with other children during the activity but we try to introduce tackle bag contact from the very start. As the Microbes progress to P3, we start to introduce a bit more player contact to prepare them for the full tackling games they will be playing for the Minis section

WHERE & WHEN? The Microbes train every Sunday morning, at 11:00am until 12:30pm, from August through to April, at the Braidhaugh playing fields - see map here. We very seldom have cancellations due to poor weather. To confirm  please see:

INFORMATION LINE: 07704 180974

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?  There is no membership fee. In order to cover overheads, equipment/medal purchase and general running costs we need to charge £1 per session.

HOW CAN MY CHILD JOIN IN?  Please just come along and join in. At the first session, we ask parents to complete a player registration form for each child. You can download this here in advance, or complete it at the club.

CAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP?  Yes please!!! The club runs entirely on the basis of dedicated parent volunteers. We are always looking for parents to help out in any capacity, whether that be helping out with the training, fundraising, committee roles, or anything you can bring to the club. Please speak to Norman or Tracy on Sunday, or contact us via the email links below.

HOW DID THE MICROBES GET STARTED?  On the first day of the Microbes, there were 6 players taking part. Fast forward a couple of years and attendance is regularly 30-40 energetic 3 to 8 year olds. Thanks to the help and support of parents, we have been running nearly every Sunday throughout the rugby seasons excluding Christmas and New Years days for four years. Last season, some of the P4 Minis were the first product of the "Microbes coaching system”. The passing and tacking skills developed within the Microbes have been clearly visible during their games and the youngsters produced great, entertaining team performances all season. We look forward to watching the progress of the upcoming Microbes to transfer to the P4 Minis for many seasons to come.
